It was a warm July day in 1982 when Bill and Marilyn Flanagan became the proud owners of a small Shillington Tavern. For many years Bill thought about owning his own business and finally decided to make the move.
The Flanagans’ took the popular little tavern and added their own personality and flavor, which by the way has an Irish theme. I wonder how this decision was made?
Throughout the years the husband and wife team have won the hearts and thirsts of many of the local residents and also people from all over the country. The local tavern has provided the Community with a gathering place for fun, great conversation and some of the greatest lunches in the area. The instant you walk in the door you can feel the warmth, charm and friendly atmosphere.
The tavern over the years has offered many forms of entertainment. A lot has changed since Bill and Marilyn opened for business, and another change has taken place. On September 3rd, 1996 Flanagan’s has changed hands. The proud new owner is non-other than Chris Flanagan. Chris plans to continue where his Father and Mother left off. Chris also told us that he will follow the Flanagan tradition of providing a friendly atmosphere, along with great food and drinks.
Chris seems to enjoy the challenge before him and is looking forward to many successful years in the tavern business. With the support of his lovely wife Kristina and his son Ian, Chris is sure to follow in his father’s footsteps and become one of the area’s favorite tavern owners.
